Looking back, it’s astonishing to realize just how much change one lifetime can hold.

Who would have imagined seeing and talking with loved ones on a screen?
Who would have imagined joints being replaced so people could keep walking, golfing, dancing, and traveling?
Who would have imagined that instead of unfolding a paper map on a road trip, a voice would calmly tell us where to turn?
Who would have imagined a spacecraft preparing to take us back toward the Moon?

One day, today’s thirteen-year-olds will look back on 2026 the way many of us look back on 1976. They’ll remember the music, the technology, the headlines, and the people who shaped their lives. Perhaps they’ll smile at the things we considered remarkable—and wonder how we ever lived without whatever comes next.
Maybe that’s why now is the perfect time to create a memory box or a family time capsule. Not because we know what the future holds, but because one day someone we love will want to know what life was like today.
Sometimes we measure our lives by birthdays and anniversaries. But perhaps another measure is this: the remarkable changes we’ve been fortunate enough to witness. Looking back fifty years reminds us that growing older doesn’t simply mean accumulating years. It also means we’ve become eyewitnesses to history.
