Graham, I wondered how the aging population was impacting the U.K.? BTW, had a chance to visit your website and print shop, WOW! I liked so many of them, but grinning alligator stuck in my mind!

Thank you Brenda, I love the alligator too. It’s hard to say exactly how the aging population is impacting or being impacted in the UK as I don’t have enough facts to draw my own conclusions. I am by training a scientist and I like to firm my own opinions based on documents/ reports that can be verified by others. Unfortunately even academic research is slanted by what those financing it want to have proved.

My belief is however that people are living longer and staying active longer. This is accepted in many areas and older people are becoming accepted in many areas of work. I don’t think this is due to the benevolence of younger people but the fact that the users of many of the services are also older, more active people too.

I wrote a couple of Substack Notes on my feelings about my daughter and son contacting me as their first choice for their work related advice/ tasks.

Like us! We’re “VoiceBox, Substack friends.” Tuesday is Haley’s birthday, so we can expect extra fun! I have a friend that is 83 and interesting getting her perspective of the world.

Great Brenda!!! 😍 particularly zoomed in on the following: "While certain cognitive abilities start to decline later in life, vocabulary and crystallized intelligence are at their best from ages 60 to 70-I better hurry😂

We have to engage with people who lift us up and find spaces where we are celebrated, not tolerated. Surround yourself with people who will be your champion!!!!

I’ve witnessed some friends in their 80s continually “put down” by family members in their 60s until it has eroded their self-confidence. It ticks me off to see the effect it is having and I had to write about it.

Another excellent article. I just wish my vocabulary was better in my 60s. The thesaurus is now my best friend.

The Thesaurus is there for a reason! 🤭

My vocabulary is steady but I’m having increased problems remembering names (that I never had before) even with all the medical offices I called on as a pharma rep. So, I’m trying a technique I read about to remember names.
